This is our third Optima battery. We have one in our travel trailer, and one in our 2008 Nissan Pathfinder. Just bought this red top to replace the low quality battery that came with our new truck which only lasted 2 years. We have a 2015 Nissan Frontier, Pro-4X4, 4.0L V6 Gas and it fits perfectly. Here is a tip, for our vehicle do not throw away the plastic tray that comes with the battery. It is a riser/adapter and you will need to increase the height of the battery for the Frontier. Just snap it on to the bottom of the battery then install it.

I just received this item today and will install it tomorrow, but this review is on the freshness. it has a long barcode on the side that starts with 7069XXXXXX which means my battery was made on the 69th day of 2017. (gigitty) so that manufacture date points out to be march10th, meanwhile today is april 24. this is a very fresh battery. anyways if this battery doesn't perform well, I'll come back and change this to a 1 star sucky review.

Have had this battery for over three years, and it keeps on cranking. The battery is installed in my wife's 2008 Corvette which has a tendency to draw on the battery even when the car is turned off. Only one time, when we returned from a two-week trip in the hot summer, did the battery drain too low to start the car. Now we remember to use a trickle charger when we're gone for extended periods. Granted a gel battery is not necessary for our use, but the red top matched the exterior color and the engine compartment enhancements.

As an old proverb says: a cheap person will buy twice. Do not become that proverb, buy a good battery that will last you a long time, yes upfront you will pay $40 more vs a battery at your local walmart or autozone, but this battery will outlast the store battery by a good margin - your average life span of an autozone batt is ~2-3 years, this one will go double that. If you are keeping your car for the next 4+ years just get this battery, set it and forget it. Packaging is superb, delivery is fast, quality is there. - not to mention you have Amazon that stands behind you, the largest retailer in the world.

Yet another Optima for my stable. I've only had it for a couple of weeks, so who knows on total lifespan, but this one was perfect out of the box, as usual. Packing was far better than any before. They have been shipping in a decent cardboard cocoon, but this one came double boxed--outer box destroyed--but now packed in a new type of styrene foam, a complete shell of a softer, more resilient Styrofoam that seems perfectly suited to cushioning a 30-something pound block. And since the carrier dropped it over my gate from chest height, I'm pleased about the packing. So far, all good.

Fit in an Mitsubishi Evo X without a problem. I was hesitant to buy due to some of the Amazon reviews, but went with my gut knowing that this brand has been around for quite some time and in my experience has a good reputation. I'm going on almost 2 years now and it has worked great. Would buy again and recommend.

Optimas are still great batteries for the price and reliability. I currently own 4 Optima's, a yellow top for my truck, the red top for the wife's car and 2 blue tops for the boat. They all work wonderfully and I trust the brand. This red top replaced the old red top in my wife's car that I have had in the car for 10 years in the brutal Florida climate. The old battery still held a charge with no problem and I really didn't even need to replace it but after 10 years the CCA noticeably dropped and the start became more and more weak. I really only replaced it for fear that after 10 years the CCA pulse might finally give up when my wife needed it most. Now with the new battery I know I don't have to worry about it for a long time. Things to notice on the old battery vs the new is that the old one was clearly "Made In The USA" and the new one is "Made In Mexico" as well as the the fact that Optima is now owned by Johnson Controls and the Home office has moved from Aurora, CO to Milwaukee, WI. The 3 year replacement warranty is still in effect between the the old and new battery. Some of the old reviews here say the warranty was not honored by Optima since they were sold through amazon but this battery was purchased from the "Optima Store" on Amazon so I don't think that is a problem anymore. Also it was packaged very well direct from the manufacturer. The first 2 pictures are the old battery and the last one is the new battery so you can see the differences in production and ownership.

I bought this to replace the battery that came with my 2015 Nissan Sentra. I bought the car brand new and the old battery was 3 years old and was starting to die out. This battery far exceeds the standard factory battery, and I noticed it the second I started the car. The starter sounded like it was turbocharged in comparison. Now I just have to wait and see how well it performs over the next few years. I am pretty confident that it will be fine though. Even the way it was packaged told me a lot about the company. I would definitely recommend buying this!!

Arrived as promised. Fit my application as described. I have ordered 4 different optima batteries from amazon as far back as 2014. All are still in service. It is very important to understand how batteries work and what applications they are used for. Any batteries that are left unused with a drain will fail quickly. If you plan to leave your batteries out of use simply add an inexpensive trickle charger to it. This will save you lots of headache and your vehicle will start every time for a long time. Also never mix battery types in a system. Even if you have the wrong type of batteries for your application they will both last longer if they are like type batteries. Example do not connect a marine battery to a crank battery. They have different charge rates. Will it work yes. It will work longer if they match.

This battery is a great OEM replacement for my 2006 Mazda RX8. It provides plenty of power to the vehicle for starting, etc. The battery was simple to install using the following steps: -Use a 10mm wrench to loosen the nut that holds the terminal clamp on the negative terminal -disconnect the negative terminal -Use a 10mm wrench to loosen the nut that holds the terminal clamp on the positive terminal -disconnect the positive terminal -Take the old battery out of the compartment it is in and replace it with this new one -connect and tighten the clamp for the positive terminal -connect and tighten the clamp for the negative terminal One thing about this battery that was a bit of a negative was that it was shorter than the OE Mazda battery. This meant I needed to prop the battery up a little bit so the terminal clamps could be properly fastened. I simply used the cover that came on this battery and put it underneath the battery to give a 1-2inch increase in height allowing the clamps to clear the sides of the battery well. Pros: *Good cranking power *Everything power-wise runs well Cons: *A little short for the stock battery well(-1/4 a star) However this can be fixed by using the terminal cover that came with the battery and placing it underneath the battery inside of the well. Additional Considerations: Make sure you have a wire brush and some terminal cleaner to clean the clamps. Also some kind of electrical-conducting gel may be good to apply when installing the battery. Overall: 4.75/5 stars (>=.5 rounds up, <.5 rounds down) => 5 stars If you have any further questions regarding the product in my review please leave a comment below and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
