Your pencil technique is good, but your proportions are off. I would suggest looking for reference material. That way you have matching features and proportions for the type of person your drawing. Otherwise, excellent work!

Draw using your elbow/shoulder more than your wrist, you’ll have cleaner lines. Study anatomy that’s an important foundation that paves the way to drawing anything you can think of exactly as your thinking it. If you like using pencil, instead of using any regular pencil, buy a set of pencils with different hardness, it gives more variety to your lines. Doing still life drawings with charcoal is a very good way to get used to shading since charcoal is easier to shade with then regular pencil. Drawing with pen can also be good, it will get you used to being comfortable with mistakes (since they’re permanent) instead of worrying over every line. For shading, draw pages on top of pages of 3D boxes and spheres all with light sources in different positions and shade them accordingly. You can also use shapes for perspective practice but perspective is something I still haven’t gotten down yet (been drawing since 2010) so can’t help much there. You can get the best teaching lessons on Youtube, the number of tutorials for each topic is limitless. I recommend you to concentrate on shading correctly (and darker), learn about proportions and shapes within a face (like how to draw a nose, lips etc correctly). Another point worth mentioning would be the facial expressions in general. What Happens to our eyelids, eyebrows, lips etc when we are happy/sad/angry and so on. But most importantly you have to draw, draw, draw if you want to improve. Just keep in mind that you need New imput and techniques from Professionals now and then, otherwise you'll end up being frustrated when failing to improve, without someone guiding you in the right direction. Good luck with that and nice drawing by the way, keep it up!

I wouldnt call this talentless. This is quite a big step. At least you could picture in your head what you want to draw, and then brought it on to a paper. Most people that I have met, who wanted to begin to draw could not really grasp that. It’s rough, I was too in my early days. Keep practicing Copying if you have to... (but only for practice)

I think it looks a bit flat. Have you seen those techniques where people draw a sphere first, then bend the face around it? Maybe you can try those. Anyway, not a bad start.

I am 19, wouldn’t say I am the best drawer but I have been drawing since 13. I re-drew your drawing in my own version and here my opinion: - Use guide lines(lines across the face to align features) - Use different tones(I imagine a light source on the top right, so the dark parts would be on the bottom left of the shapes), bring out the face with higher contrast - the body is a little too buff for a girl? Idk if you are going for that - Lastly, keep posting and seeking criticism(maybe on insta but ppl on 9GAG can be brutally honest too so that’s good) it rly can keep you motivated Also the facial expression is rly gd
